To commemorate 22nd Anniversary of One Piece manga, manga artist Boichi (Dr. Stone, Origin, Sun-Ken Rock) drew a one-chapter official spin-off manga for Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga. The one-shot is titled “Roronoa Zoro: Umi ni Chiru" (Fall Into the Ocean), and the manga focuses on a fight between Zoro and Mihawk which took place in Chapter 51 of One Piece manga.
Shueisha published the manga in the magazine’s 34th issue on July 22 2019. The chapter has 46 pages and features a center color page.

The 34th issue also features the “latest information" about the live-action Hollywood television series adaptation of the manga, as well as other projects for the manga’s 22nd anniversary. The live-action adaptation was announced on the manga’s 20th anniversary in July 2017.
One Piece began serializing the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump on July 19, 1997 (although the issue was dated with July 22). Today is the 22nd anniversary of One Piece’s first street date (not to be confused with it’s ‘official’ birthday, July 22nd). Happy Birthday One Piece! Here’s to many more years!

This isn’t the first one-shot spin-off for the series. For the series’ 21st Anniversary, One Piece released “Shokugeki no Sanji." This spin-off one-shot starred Sanji and was tackled by Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma illustrator Shun Saeki. The illustrations might have been a dramatic shift from the norm, but the spirit of Eiichiro Oda’s original was kept very much alive.
So fans are definitely hoping the same for this new special, and are excited to see what kind of intensity an illustrator like Boichi will bring to Zoro.
